Again, these photos are older. They were shot in late June for Steve & Tristan’s wedding. I had an amazing time shooting their wedding. It was probably my first proper wedding! I have never been so nervous! The church I was shooting in had strict rules about what I could and couldn’t do, when I could take pictures, how quiet I was to be. I was of course, very respectful to all parties and did the best I could during the ceremony.
After the ceremony the wedding party, my cousin Kim and I drove around the corner to Fort Langley and took pictures near the main street and then headed over for some photos at Derby Reach Regional Park where they met for the first time. The day was beautiful, but of course Tristan was even more so.

Like I said, I’m playing “catch up” with my photos, at least so there is a bit of my work on the blog to be viewed.
I met Steve & Tristan through a friend who worked with Steve. As soon as I met them I knew they were good people. Both of them had an interest in nature and the outdoors and you could tell that it was something that was special to them as a couple. I found out later when I took photos at their wedding that they met through friends working at Derby Reach Regional Park, where we took pictures on the day of their wedding. The kind, timid reserve that first impressions often yield quickly melted away to reveal a wonderfully fun and loving pair. I had a great time taking these photos with them.
I’ll just post a few of the older photos for now until I reach a more recent collection.
I have finally started a blog for my photography. I hadn’t really thought of fully pursuing photography as a career option, but I have invested a lot of time and energy into learning and I just can’t seem to stop. Every time I pick up my camera I learn something new, either about photography or about myself. Looking at photos after a simple shoot I can often surprise myself with a composition or a simple change in angle.
I will post my photography as it goes, including weddings, engagements, headshots, and other interesting subjects.
I have a small archive already building on my computer, so I will start by playing “catch up” until Sarah + Steve’s wedding on the 5th of February.
